ABOUT

FIGHT 4 THE CAUSE

Fight 4 The Cause – is a charity-boxing event for the community, where local Victorians put their chins on the line for charity. While The 7th Annual Charity Boxing Classic will certainly promise to be a spectacular night of boxing, where 24-30 local personalities enter the ring in front of an audience in excess of 1500 people and give all they’ve got for a great cause, it is much more than that.

It is about the experience, the atmosphere and making sure that every participant gets the most out of their journey. A true legacy of lives changed emerges after having shared the experience of a lifetime. Contenders finish fitter, happier, healthier and more confident. Our focus is on selecting a wide range of bouts that truly represent the unique personalities found in our community. Whether it’s industry vs. industry, business vs. business, sport vs. sport or friend vs. friend, it’s about finding the best, fairest match ups we can that have special Victoria relevance.

We get the contenders fight-fit and ready teaching them how to box with fully certified sanctioned coaches. The Event is classified as “Social” boxing, which mandates the compulsory use of headgear and competition gloves. As a sanctioned event, all boxers are required to undergo a prebout weigh in and medical.

THE EXPERIENCE

WHAT PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS ARE SAYING…

“The experience was one of the most formative of my adult life, I have learned more from the coaching staff than I would have ever thought about myself and my ability to overcome obstacles in and out of the ring.”
—Elizabeth Mears, Associate at Cushman & Wakefield Ltd.

“The experience is so much more than boxing, I’ve come to learn a lot about myself through the sport and through the people I’ve encountered on the boxing path along the way (opponents, coaches, teammates, etc). I’ve learned that boxing is about overcoming challenges, both physically and mentally. You don’t compete against the person in the other corner, you compete against yourself. You train and push your body to limits you don’t realize you can surpass until you reach that threshold and you make the choice (and tell your body) to keep going.”
—Bryan Capistrano, Music & Program Director The Zone 91.3FM
